Move-In Cleaning Checklist for Khobar Apartment Renters
Khobar's rental turnover is high enough, especially in the towers along the Corniche and toward Al Yarmouk, that "professionally cleaned before handover" doesn't always mean what it should. This is the checklist we'd suggest walking through before you sign off on a new apartment, whether you're cleaning it yourself or booking us to do it.

If you're inheriting a furnished unit, add the furniture itself to your check, sofas, mattresses and any soft furnishings the previous tenant used. A visibly clean apartment with an unclean sofa is one of the most common gaps we see, since sofas don't show dirt the way hard surfaces do until you're already living with it.
If your walkthrough turns up more than two or three of these gaps, it's worth booking a proper move-in cleaning rather than patching individual spots yourself. Trying to fix cabinet interiors, oven grease and window tracks piecemeal usually ends up costing more time than one scheduled visit.
Before you sign off on the handover
- Take photos of anything you flag as unclean, before you start using the space, in case it matters for your deposit later.
- Test the AC on both hot and cool settings, dust smell on first use often means the vents haven't been touched.
- Run the kitchen tap and check under the sink for any dampness or leftover cleaning supplies.
- Check light switches and door handles specifically, they're touched constantly but rarely get wiped in a rushed clean.
- If the unit came furnished, sit on the sofa and check the cushions, not just how it looks from standing.
None of this needs to feel adversarial toward your landlord or agent, most handover gaps are about a rushed cleaning crew, not bad intent. A quick, specific list of what needs attention is usually enough to get it addressed before you move your own things in, or to justify booking your own move-in clean if it isn't.
